Mississippi Police Taser National Action Network Leader Doing Protest!

Mississippi Police Taser National Action Network Leader Doing Protest! - - A No Struggle, No Development Production! By KennySnod * * Police In Mississippi Taser National Action Network Women Leaders i.e., (NAN - Rev. Al Sharpton's) in Protest Over Woman's Miscarriage in Police Custody. - - Miss. Police Taser one of Sharpton's NAN Leaders in Protest Over Woman's Miscarriage in Police Custody Mississippi has a long-held custom of doing nasty things to Black people. It only gets worse when you talk about the police. There are some folks with a few questions to answer after Debra Simmons, Vice President of the Mississippi Chapter of the National Action Network (NAN) was tasered by cops during a peaceful demonstration in Natchez, Mississippi. Police from the Adams County Sheriff's Department tasered the woman during a demonstration against the department for abuse. Glennese Smith Scott, a social worker and author of the book, "Surviving A Thousand Deaths," is fighting against the department over alleged abuse and negligence that took place while she was in police custody. The incident allegedly caused the woman to miscarry her twins babies that had yet to be born. "It's truly a disgrace how the Adams County Sheriff's department turned a peaceful rally into something ugly and utterly violent," said NAN member, Crystal Jackson. "This was the point of the rally, to address [Scott's] mistreatment by this department and they did not fail to prove themselves worthy of their allegations!" NAN is now planning a national rally and demonstration there, calling for the dismissal of the officer who taser Ms. Debra Simmons etc. - - A No Struggle, No Development Production! Detroiters Demand Democracy, Transparency and Economic Equity in "Peoples' Alternative Plan" Community groups propose plan based on needs of the people, reject Snyder and Orr's banker friendly "adjustment" DETROIT -- A coalition of community based groups will release A Peoples' Alternative Plan: Toward a Sustainable Detroit. The coalition plan is an alternative to the recently released Plan of Adjustment from Governor Snyder's Emergency Manager, Kevin Orr. The Snyder-Orr plan was developed behind closed doors by lawyers who have no stake in the future of our city. In contrast, the People's Plan grapples with key areas needed to revive and sustain the city including issues of democratic governance, financial structures, and schools that focus on the needs of children and families rather than bureaucratic agendas. "Our goal is to support the people of Detroit not to strip the city to pay the banks," said Shea Howell of Detroiters Resisting Emergency Management, one of the groups in the coalition. "Even Bankruptcy Judge Stephen Rhodes rejected Snyder and Orr's initial plans to repay the banks. We reject the emphasis on long term debt rather than the more manageable sort term cash flow gap of $198 million. The Governor, his Emergency Manager and their race based, repressive plans are what stand in the way of Detroit's revival. Our plan begins with the Detroit City Charter, a legal, democratically created document." Who: Reverend Charles E. Williams -- President, National Action Network, Michigan Chapter Monica Lewis-Patrick -- Co-Founder, We the People of Detroit Cecily McClellan -- Vice President, Association of Professional and Technical Employees David Sole -- Moratorium Now Julie Hurwitz -- Goodman and Hurwitz, P.C., National Lawyer's Guild What: Release of A People's Alternative Plan: Toward a Sustainable Detroit When: Monday, February 24, 2104 -- 2:00 p.m. Where: Historic King Solomon Baptist Church 6100 14th St, Detroit, MI 48208
