Mayor Duggan to visit Minister Shabazz this morning

(Detroit,MI 6/21/2024) -

Minister Malik Shabazz, leader of the New Black Panther Nation/Marcus Garvey Movement, will welcome old friend Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan this morning (11:30 AM) at the Regency Heights Nursing and Rehab Center 19100 W. Seven Mile Road Detroit, MI 48219.

Prior to rehabilitation treatment in October, Shabazz had been on a respirator, received a temporary then permanent heart pump implant; subsequently battled an infection and continued to improve after suffering a massive heart attack in June 2023.

Minister Shabazz believes that Mayor Duggan may be one of his last visitors before Shabazz is cleared to go home.

I have been blessed through prayer and community wide support that has assisted the healing process to the point where I believe I will be medically cleared to go home,” said Shabazz.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude for community wide support and prayers for Shabazz and is deeply appreciative of the care provided Minister Malik Shabazz.
